Production Orders
Production orders serve as the basic unit around which the Manufacturing system revolves. They record cost components from consumed items and demonstrate the transformation into finished output. You can create production orders manually, individually on a sales order, or based on suggestions from the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) engine using the Planning Worksheet.
Planning Worksheet
This feature allows you to plan production based on forecasting, ensuring sufficient component inventory availability. The MRP engine calculates suggestions, which you can review and adjust. The demand for calculations can come from sales orders, service orders, multi-level BOMs, and more. Additionally, the planning worksheet calculates the master production schedule (MPS) for end items based on actual demand and demand forecasts. When combined, MRP and MPS generate action messages as suggestions for creating, changing, or canceling orders at each stage of the production process.
